10.6 Server as 10.7 SUS

Hello,

I recall someone mentioning an article, perhaps on AFP548 about how you can make your 10.6 server deliver 10.7 software updates?

Can anyone share the link to that, please?

Thanks!

try this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4771

i'd personally recommend using reposado instead, as it's probably easier and "just works."

Reposado.

Not the restaurant or the tequila. ;-)

Can't seem to find a FAQ or even a how-to on how to setup reposado, would like to know how you guys set it up.

There's documentation provided with the download. They've also got a googlegroup which was quite helpful for me.

docs are in the source repository and should be easy to follow.

this (http://www.macgasm.net/2011/05/26/reposado-alternative-software-update-server/) is the first hit searching google for "reposado setup."

you need a web server of some type (pretty much any), python and curl installed, and the source.

make sure the sus directory is web accessible (test first), then run repotuil --configure to configure the repo.

run repo_sync after that, and updates will start downloading.

from there, you can get into branching and other useful stuff.
