Has anyone run into a scenario where you provide 5GHz capability, however you would prefer the laptop to connect at 2.4GHz as interference with building structure could be an issue. I would prefer an option to only connect a Macbook Pro at 2.4GHz only. Has anyone run into this kind of an issue?
Using 10.9.4 or 10.9.5 as the client, is this possible?

A simple way would be a separate SSID with 2.4GHz only for the MacBooks. Did you what one SSID on 2.4 & 5? If so, the only possibility I could think of 9which would need exploring) would be to set the MacBook wireless card to use 2.4 only (completely theoretical as I don't know if its even possible).
Personally, I would go for a separate SSID.

What are you running for Wi-Fi hardware? If you're controller is bandsteering Macs to the 5 GHz band it should also be dropping them to 2.4 GHz when there's poor 5 GHz signal. I would double check your controller configuration to be sure.
