Hi everyone,
i'm currently trying to create an advanced search that will show me all devices that didn't manage to install our webclips configuration profile. We are using devices in a shared iPad, temporary Session only mode, so the configuration profile has to be installed every time a guest user is being logged in. The profile then stays on the device, even after the user logged out and only if a new guest user is being logged in the "old" profile gets removed and reinstalled or at least that is how it appears to be working.
I didn't find any other criteria than "Profile Name" that would let me search devices for installed configuration profiles and it seems to be the correct criteria, but it looks like its either not working correctly or its not meant for what i am trying to achieve, although Jamf lists every configuration profile as possible value.
If i use the criteria like this: "Profile Name [Operator] has [Value] BIZ_PROD_Webclips" i only find 2 devices which do have the profile installed. Currently there should be 4 devices without the profile.
If i use it the other way: "Profile Name [Operator] does not have [Value] BIZ_PROD_Webclips" i get 5465 devices and again most of them have the profile installed. The 4 devices without installed profile are also listed in this search.
I've also tried using the identifier criteria and the identifier value of the configuration profile but that didnt work either. If i use the "IS" Operator i get again only the same 2 Devices of my first example and if i use "IS NOT" i get 5450, so almost all of the other 5465 Devices.
I've also tried my advanced search with another non temporary Session Configuration Profile and this time it worked correctly.
So has anyone seen similar behavior in the past? I think there seems to be a huge logic error with configuration profiles that are linked to temporary sessions.

-->> I tried something similar to this, and it works,
it should be correct,
if there are any problems like advance search not working you can contact or create a Jamf support ticket
Monday
Thanks for confirming that it should be correct. I'll definitely create a ticket and will update my post, if we find a solution.
