Apple TV question…

As per my previous post, I have enrolled one of our Apple TVs into the JSS. Network Security requested we bring those devices under management as we have nearly 10 on our network now and there was a security bulletin from Apple recently that got their attention.

They want to make sure all of our devices are managed so we are certain they are up to date security-wise.

So I have my first Apple TV in the JSS. It was already configured, so I used Method 2 from this JAMF Nation article:

Method 2 merely installs enrollment profiles to get the device in the JSS. The Apple TV retains all previous settings. This is preferred, as all of our Apple TVs are in the field, configured and working.

I see no way to force the Apple TV to run the updates as they are released from Apple. Am I missing something? Am I going to have to use Method 1 (which erases the devices and starts over) to enroll the rest of these units to force auto-updates? My users will not be happy if I have to wipe them all to get them managed, but if necessary, will do it.

BTW, I manually set the first unit preferences to auto-run updates yesterday… However, this morning, it still shows as having OS 7.1.1, with an update available. How quickly should it auto-run the updates from Apple?
