ASM / Prestage / Releasing Device

I am utilizing DEP - one catch all prestage (for now, changing that this summer) - and I manage all the supervised devices by smart groups.
Full disclosure - high school setting and I deploy iPad's by grade level - at the end of the 4 year term students get to walk with the iPad.
Sooo - After I 'unmanage/release' devices from standard MDM am I then forced to remove from both ASM AND Prestage? orrrr can I just release/unassign them from ASM and then when prestage syncs those devices will drop out of the Prestage environment?

Hello. You are correct, if you release the device from ASM, then it is no longer yours, and the device will no longer display in the PreStage in Jamf Pro (I hope the JPS cleans these up). So I think it is safe to just release from ASM and not bother with removing from the PreStage first.
