BaseSystem.dmg

I'm trying to use the BaseSystem.dmg to lay down a 2nd partition or
Lion. I have in the parent config a 2nd partition created @ 2gb (when
you install apple's default is 650mb), Journaled HFS+, checked This is a
restore partition, selected the basesystem.dmg file, and checked
re-image this poartition if it already exists..

So I reimage a box, but that partition never gets created. I verified
in the imaging logs and the logs say it's doing the job but diskutil
list doesn't list any new partitions, and I can't option-boot to see the
recovery partition...

Preparing disk for block copy...

Performing Block Copy of BaseSystem.dmg...

Cleaning up after block copy...

Erasing Apple Recovery...

Erasing Apple Recovery manually...

Installing BaseSystem.dmg...

Copying Casper Imaging for Restore Partition...

Setting computer name to "ushofml305229"...

Ensuring Apple's Setup Assistant does not appear...

Blessing System...

What did you name the partition in the parent config? I believe it has to be named "Restore".

Oddly enough, when I clicked ok to those settings the parent config stated the name was "Apple Recovery". (??)

So I went in changed the installed os to the ESD file, and the parent config changed to Restore. Then I changed back to the BaseSystem.dmg and it stayed as Restore. Trying it again now..

Didn't work.

Watching Casper Imaging - I see it open the dmg file.. says it copies, but it closes the dmg withing like 3-4 seconds. Same behavior if I Netboot or Target Disk boot.
Weird.

Hi John,
Which version of Casper and which OS version is your baseimage.dmg? I think you stated Lion, but I can't tell if the restore was Lion and the Main OS SL or ??
