Config Profiles slow to update

I made a change to our config profile, but it seems that it's taking a LONG time to update, some are taking 30min or more, others have been on the network for 6+ hrs but still haven't gotten updated. They are all checking in with the JSS. The JSS shows the profiles are pending. The machines have rebooted, manually reconed, switched network cables, tried WiFi... nothing seems to convince it to bring it down.

(10.9.2 machines, JSS 9.3, 10.9.2 Servers w/ Server 3.1.1)

@jwojda
You ever find anything that works for this? Seeing similar issue on newly imaged machines. Only way so far to force it through was to run a jamf enroll on the machines. Not really something I want to do for every machine.

nothing really. just kind of living with it in hopes that JAMF will address it with a patch.

Profiles for us seem to be going out very slowly on machines. Running JSS 9.25. So I take it that it was still slow with 9.3. Any faster now with 9.31 ? Still haven't updated.

I'm experiencing the same issue with configuration profiles...

when sending a configuration profile to a device for the first time it gets applied within 15 mins, however if i make a change to that configuration profile and apply it to all it may take hours...

For us it seems to be a bit hit and miss. (10.9.2 clients. 9.25 JSS) Some get them right away. Some get them very very slowly. I have found however as @tron_jones said if I run a sudo jamf enrol -prompt on a machine it will then usually get all the profiles. I'm wondering if things are better with 9.31. I've been holding off on updating as I'm just starting a 900 machine deployment.

Now seeing an issue where the machines get the profiles, but later on they seem to vanish.

I was scoping a department for the profiles. I'm going to try scoping to a Smartgroup to see if I get better results that way.

Remember, Config Profiles use the MDM framework, which means they rely on Apple's APN servers (push network) to get the profiles to the machines. Apple's APNs network has 24 hrs to deliver any messages. So the delay could be with Apple's servers and not with the JSS.

i deleted the profiles and re-created them, they seem to be coming down faster now.
