Creating collections

Where in the JSS web portal do you create collections of machines? I come from Windows and in SCCM you can create computer collections based on either a static list of machines or based on a query. So you can write SQL code to find machines that meet certain criteria.

How/Where is that done in the JSS portal?

Are you talking about computer groups, such as the static and smart groups under the Management tab? Or are you looking for just finding computers, which would be a saved advanced search under the Inventory tab?
