DDM MacOS Download and schedule to install only for Jamf Cloud-hosted environments, why?

This one of the new MacOS DDM management features we were most looking forward to. Why is Jamf locking this to the cloud?

Why? Because Jamf wanted to, at least that is what I am assuming. I suppose it's possible there is some apple limitation that only Jamf cloud can accommodate but I doubt it. Other features like Mac App Installers also are cloud only, figure they are using these functions to push people to cloud.

If memory serves, it has to do with the communication channel needs for DDM commands.

Why cant this be done on prem? ManageEngine supports DDM and 100% works on prem. Really do not like the way Jamf is going with this.

I'm hoping this makes it to the GovCloud space sometime soon; not having that option is a real killjoy.
