If we use DEP can we;
- still supervise iPads
- still make the most of Casper Focus as we do it by supervising ipads with Apple Configurator

Under Mobile Devices > PreStage Enrollments > "Your Enrollment Group"
There is a checkbox under the Options > General for Supervise Devices
That will take care of needing that for Casper Focus for you. If a device has already been enrolled in DEP without that already checked, I'm not sure if you would need to wipe/re-enroll or not.

+1 @qhle373
You would need to wipe and reenroll if Supervision was not enabled in the Prestage.
We are using DEP and all of our devices are supervised and work with Casper Focus just fine.

- we didn't upgrade for a while so our current JSS version in 9.31.
- we don't see any PreStage option under Mobile Devices.
- however, at the end of 2013 we moved all students iPads from Unsupervised to Supervised iPads via AC
- all one to one iPads and shared iPads are supervised and teachers are happy using Casper Focus
now when we move all our iPads to DEP with Supervision so does it all go smooth or we need to wipe them again. :(

Have you added your DEP token by adding your MDM server to your DEP portal (deploy.apple.com)? You probably won't see prestage until you do that. It's a two step process, add them to a MDM server in deploy.apple.com and then add them to a prestage.
You will need to wipe them since you are moving to a new supervisor. Everything set in a prestage happens at time of enrollment, if you make a modification to a prestage it only impacts subsequent enrolled devices.

you are correct @brad][/url we don't yet have MDM token from deploy.apple.com
DEP has recently launched in Australia and we are in touch with Apple Store Doncaster VIC to help us with the Apple reseller ID.
Once all set up then we will proceed towards that step also can you please advise that where do we get the supervision certificate like we have one in AC. Do we upload the AC certificate or is it just the MDM token.

You won't need any special cert for supervision. The MDM certificate will have all that. The token you get from the deployment portal will allow that portal to communicate with the JSS. The JSS has a built in SCEP server and everything else you need to make MDM work. If your devices are already in MDM with Casper you shouldn't need to do anything more than configure DEP and the prestage.
Best of luck,
Brad
