Deploying Office 2016

On Windows machines, I've always gone into the volume licensing center to download a copy of Office.

For Mac, is it okay to download the installer from outlook.office365.com and use this .pkg to deploy to all the machines in my company?

There have actually been quite a few posts on this already if you search the forums.

However, to answer your question, you can deploy the downloaded installer for O365, it'll just require that your users are all licensed for Office 365 and have an account they can log into to activate the software. The volume license copy available through the VLSC includes a .plist with licensing information stored so that login is not required of your users.

I believe the installer is the same, but if you have a volume license entitlement then you should probably use that. It will also save you the hassle of deploying a separate license file which will be required if you use the O365 installer. The current VL installer is named SW_DVD5_Office_Mac_Standard_2016_MultiLang_-2_ISO_MLF_X20-45880.ISO in the portal. Application versions are 15.13.3.

Thanks all. I'll do a better job at searching before posting next time.
