Finale 25 crashing on install with Casper

Just curious if anyone has dealt with Finale crashing while installing via Casper. It looks like the software is installed as it will launch. I don't use it so I don't know how well it works and if everything is there. If I do it through Self Service, Self Service crashes. If I do it through Casper Remote, I get the log below.

I contacted their support about it yesterday but haven't heard back. I'm on a time crunch with the semester starting Monday so if someone has any insight, I'd appreciate it. There's not really anything to go on from Jamf's logs though.

More details friend.

Finale needs fonts and dependancies with A/V stuff. How its it crashing? Give screenshots. Was this a new installation or upgrade? Did you make the package or otherwise? Lots of questions. Write more.

Unfortunately, you can't use the "Install Finale.pkg" alone, since it relies on additional hidden .pkgs and compressed data located on the main installer DMG. There are two hidden .pkgs for installing the Garritan Instruments for Finale, as well as the Aria Player - the sample data is compressed.

We've had success here with packaging Finale 25 as a standard Composer snapshot DMG - make sure that you wait for the initial installer to call on the other two installers before you capture your difference snapshot, and you should get everything needed except activation which must still be done manually post-deployment.

Hope that helps!

Whoa...I never received any email letting me know you guys responded...weird.

@pruokis That's the same conclusion I was starting to come to. I had some time to peek inside the packages today and just shook my head when I saw the other packages. I'm actually more disappointed in their support. They have a page that I have listed below that lists how to install from the command line. They mention a silentInstallerChoices.plist file and there's a link to download it but when I try to grab it, I get the dreaded too many redirects error. I reported to support about what I'm trying to do and the issue with downloading the file two days ago and have yet to hear from them.

Thanks for the info though! I'm beginning to think that at this rate it's going to end up being quicker to install it manually than trying to make their installer work but I think I'll try making my own like you did.

I successfully downloaded the plist file today. Might want to give it another shot. I'm just looking to see what my options are so I don't have to authorize and de-authorize all those copies. I used to run their licensing server, then they said that isn't an option any more but looks like there are other folks here that run it, so I guess I'll be calling them this week to see if I can get a copy.

@Fattic Definitely talk to them. We're running it here.

@jhuls I did, and I'm all squared away now. Up and running like a champ. Thanks.

So I was just given Finale 25 to package from another area on campus. I did a composer capture, however when I go to launch the application, it asks me to authorize it. How do we get around this?

I have downloaded the silentInstallerChoices.xml but I don't see any documentation as to what they different keys are. I also don't see a place to include the license information. Any help on getting this thing packaged up would be awesome.
