Sign up for a distribution license at the link below. Its free and doesn't take long to do. They'll send you an email with a link you can use to download the regular OS X installer package, rather than the one you get by going to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

mm2270 - yes thanks, the http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ downloads a .dmg then when I run it, it goes to a download to do the install.
i'll sign up for distribution license. Will the link that is given to me contain the OS X installer package each time a new version of flash-player is released?
I'll be able to use this .pkg to create a policy to install flash-player? no need to do any sort of scripting or anything like that?
thanks

Yes, the link you'll get can be used each time a new release comes out and will download a standalone installer that doesn't need to go grab some other pieces like the DMG you get at get.adobe.com/flashplayer.
You may want to also look into getting and setting up AutoPkg on a system, like an internal Mac server, and have it auto download the latest releases for you on a schedule. It uses the same links to get the latest version. For Flash Player and lots of other products.

We use a script called fetchFlash and pass to it via the casper $4 place holder the flash version (latest) that should be installed. It checks the installed version and if not a match curls the latest dmg down from: "http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac" mounts it and installs it. Found this overall easier than installing a package each time, just have the client grab it.

We normally use the "for system administrators" version here:

I typically get the flash player (DMG installer for system administrators) here:
