Hanging at Checking for Policies

I have a number of devices that hang at "Checking for Policies" when logging off or rebooting. Has anyone seen this or know how to resolve it?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. A lot of my iMacs will just hang at Checking Policies. Sometime it will go through after a couple of minutes. Sometime it won't. And when it won't, even I turn off all the policies, the computer will still stuck at checking policies. I have to restart it a couple of times to fix the problem. My account manage send me the following to troubleshoot. You can try it too but I don't think this is a good solution. It shouldn't happen at all. I hardly see Windows stuck at Group Policies.

  1. Delete computer from JSS Inventory
  2. Run sudo jamf removeFramework in the computer Terminal (if you lucky enough to log on to the computer eventually)
  3. After the command, check /Library/Application Support/JAMF/Downloads is empty.
  4. Re-run QuickAdd on the computer and test your policy again. Good luck!

Has anyone else noticed behavior like this? We seem to be getting more and more reports of machines stuck at "checking for policies" as soon as a user initiates login.
