HTML in Self Service descriptions

I just upgraded from 9.31 to 9.5 and apparently Self Service no longer parses HTML in the description field. Just wondering if anyone has a workaround or if support for HTML has just been removed altogether.

I believe as of version 9.4 it now supports markdown
