...you can't go wrong with an SSD. My "testbed" machine is a new Intel Mac mini Server (which normally ships with 2 500 GB drives). Spent an additional $160 and purchased a 60 GB OWC SSD. Disk I/O is lightning fast - the complete CS5 install is under 10 minutes. Installed Windows 7 Ultimate into VMware Fusion in 9 minutes. Office 2011 install took 3 minutes.
Can't wait until these get cheaper (and higher capacity). Seriously thinking about ditching the optical drive in my MBP and getting an SSD for the OS/primary apps, and just having my home directory on the HD.
