Imaging on iBook G4 freezes

All,

I'm trying to image our iBooks using Casper Imaging 7.21 and Netboot. The
problems occurs at startup of the imaging software, it sometimes gets past
the login screen sometimes not. Once it freezes Casper imaging locks up
and you have to reboot the laptop to get the screen again.

Any ideas what might be causing this. The image is a Universal image; it
worked fine on my Macbooks but not on the G4 iBooks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Chris,

I had run into a similar issue last year.. Basically I had hit and miss
luck with PPC Macs and the Universal NetInstall sets. What I ended up doing
was making an Intel NetInstall (or Netboot), and a separate PPC Netboot
image.

Once I did that, all problems went away. Since PPC is no longer being
developed, I've had that same Netboot for quite some time now.. Never a need
to rebuild or update it other than modifying it when we upgrade Casper
versions.

We are using Casper from v6 to for our PPC systems As far as the netboot
image.
