iOS 9.2 - unable to push apps

After an iPad is at 9.2 we are no longer able to push managed apps or push self service.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've been having problems pushing managed apps today to newly updated iOS 9.2 iPads. However, I think it our issue might be a VPP account issue. We use 2 different VPP accounts. The one with just a few thousand VPP MD licenses (that we don't use very often) seems to be pushing apps just fine. Our primary VPP account (which has a few hundred thousand VPP MD licenses) doesn't seem to be pushing apps at all. I've tried clearing out all failed and pending commands, refreshing license counts, restarting Tomcat... I'm going to renew the VPP token for the primary account next. It worked the last time I had a similar problem (when everything was stuck in "pending").

Keeping fingers crossed... I'll let you know how it goes.

FYI, others are reporting this in the Apple Forums for all mdm vendors.

Thanks for the link @typeusernamehere

I am seeing the same thing mentioned in that post… where the first time a managed application is installed, it's working perfectly well. As soon as we try to install any other managed application, it's not working anymore.

From what one user posted, "it looks like there is a bug in the way Apple Store the Cookies for the HTTP(S) session related to the binary download which results in a Segmentation Fault on the device. So nothing we can do and unfortunately need (again) to wait on Apple to fix it."

I’ve emailed our Apple SE and JAMF TAM this link. This issue is critical for all enterprise customers who use VPP MD for device assignable apps!

I am giving both Apple Education support & our Apple SE strong negative feedback about this problem and encourage everyone else to do too!

A beta for iOS9.2.1 was released this morning and it is rumored to fix the problem. No idea of how many beta cycles may be planned. If its the same as other releases it could be 4 or more which means a fix is over a month away.

This is causing us major pain. We are trying to use our iPads for final (high school) exams this week. Our process is to push an app to a student's iPad. Obviously students who have updated to iOS9.2 do not get the app.

To make it worse I cannot stop anyone updating to 9.2 other than by requesting that they do not. In the past we blocked updates while students were on campus but we cannot prevent an update when away from school. Apple's update nag messages just make the situation worse.

I still remember the pain caused by iOS7 losing supervision mode.

Is there an easy way to clear all pending/failed commands?

Not as far as I know. I only know to do this from the Management tab for each device.

@bfrench, if you contact your TAM they can help you with clearing pending/failed commands. There are some SQL commands you can type to do it but I'm hesitant to give them to you as bad things can happen if you make a typo. It would be best to talk to your TAM on this one.
