JSS: 9.101
iPads: Mini2
iOS: 11.x
Our iPads are set up with a WiFi payload to auto-join an open SSID ( Meraki )
Everything else seems to be working OK ( app pushes, etc ) ; this worked without issue last year on iOS 9/10.
Seems the problem may have arisen after being updated to iOS 11 ..
Seeing some reports of TLS security changes in iOS may be a factor?

If you have an autojoin wifi profile, I am also seeing on iOS 11 that when that config profile is applied the wifi loses all connectivity.

Is the consensus ... that if the Auto-Join payload is added to a config profile on iOS 11 .. the clients ironically cannot join WiFi at all ( unless manually done so)?

From what I have seen is if the ipad is joined to the wifi that is defined in the autojoin wifi profile it will kick the device off of its wifi when the profile is pushed down

Different problem, but possibly related - we use an Auto-join profile with WPA2 Enterprise, with Auto proxy set. Since updating to iOS 11.1, when the profile is applied, the proxy setting defaults to manual and has to be manually updated to Auto.
Connectivity is fine, though.

we are seeing this as well, working with Apple to find the issue. Are you 802.1x?
Have you also checked console log on the Apple Configurator to see the error message?
Just wondering if it is the same with ours. On ours so far during testing the WiFi Collapses as soon as AutoJoin Config is added with username and password authentication.
But works with WEP key.

Ended up having to remove the auto-join an open SSID setting from the Configuration profile.
Then had to re-visit every iPad affected to manually get them back on WiFi, and push the fixed profile ( without the auto-join setting ) out again.
