One of the JDS instances suddenly stopped the replication, we get the error below when we try a sudo jamfds inventory. Has someone came across something like this?

The JDS is running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Server

$ sudo jamfds inventory

Ubuntu 14.04 is not a supported OS to use for the JDS, and it likely will not work at all, nor can we guarantee a JDS that was running on 14.04 will continue to run or be stable as that OS is not supported.

If you check the Casper Suite Administrator’s Guide’s Requirements section, you’ll find a list of OSes that are supported for the JDS.

For Linux, that would be Ubuntu 10.04, Ubuntu 12.04, or RHEL 6.4, 6.5, 6.6, or 7.0.

No other Linux based operating systems are supported and we cannot guarantee the JDS will install, run, or remain running on any other versions of Linux.

I would suggest either moving to a supported OS and reinstalling the JDS or, much more ideally, moving away from the JDS entirely and using file shares or a combination of cloud file shares and regular file shares (as we cannot image from a cloud share).

If you have additional questions or run into trouble reinstalling the JDS, please get in touch with support either by giving us a call, sending an e-mail to support@jamf.com, or using the My Support section of Jamf Nation.

Thanks!
