We are happy to have William Smith presenting this session on Tuesday, Oct 23 at 10:45am in the Dowling Studio (Level 9).
This session will be based on .plist files—where to find them, how to read them, and how to manipulate them using MCX, configuration profiles, and shell scripts.
Bill has also supplied some additional information that is very helpful when learning about .plists.

FYI, this was the original description of my proposal for this session. I'm assuming due to space limitations or other reasons the final published description got a little watered down.
Introduction to managing the humble .plist file HdMYiPx1cpxeAG1luh7r Learn how to manage .plist files and you'll learn how to customize thousands of Mac OS X and application preferences like these. This course would introduce new Mac administrators to .plist files, where to find them, how to read them and how to manipulate them using MCX, Configuration Profiles and shell scripts.
I encourage anyone planning to attend one or more of the later scripting sessions offered throughout the week to consider joining this session. A lot of Mac admin scripting will revolve around modifying plists.
Or for anyone interested in Mac management using MCX (Managed Preferences in the JSS) and Profiles then understanding plists is a must.
