OS X Restrict which apps are allowed to launch

I currently have it setup to only allow certain folders to be able to launch apps. We are going to be implementing a new remote assistance app that runs from the downloads folder. Since the downloads folder is not an approved app launching location they are being prevented. remote.dmg is downloaded the user clicks on it and then runs the application. This is a one time installer that can't be reused.

My thought is to somehow allow just that dmg to run or a wildcard version of it. Or to always allow the app to run but it looks like that is limited to built in apps only.

Does anyone have a way this can be done?

Thanks

Hi, I have the same issue.
With Apple Profile Manger it was possible to whitelist Apps (by ID I think?), but I couldn't figure out how this works in Jamf.
Please someone help us!
