Just a few Outlook questions for those of you deploying/managing the iOS version of Microsoft Outlook...
-Does the iOS Outlook app use ActiveSync or EWS (Exchange Web Services)?
-Does Outlook still route/store data on non-Mocrosft servers/NOC? Prior to Microosts aqusition of Outlook (Acompli) did some "questionable" things with customers email data. This site claims that O365 customers are more secure now, but on-premisie customers data stall pass-through 3rd-party servers. Can anyone confirm?
-Can Outlook be managed via MDM profiles like Apple Mail (server URL/port, User ID, preferences etc)?
-Can Outlook mount shared mailboxes (i.e. without prompting for credentials)?
Thank you

I think a lot of people want the answer to this question. Our security department refuses to consider Outlook for iOS until these questions are answered. Many companies didn't like that their data was handled by AWS as an intermediary.
This blog entry said that Microsoft was going to have the migration completed by the time Ignite 2016 rolled around:

Yet this KB article says the O365 infrastructure migration is still underway as of March 2017: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt684948(v=exchg.160).aspx.aspx)
It's been 6-12 months. What's the current status?

At MS Ignite 2017, Microosft has confimred that shared calendars are coming to mobile Outlook (https://goo.gl/ZBNnEL). I'm considering switching from Apple Mail.app to Outlook on my ~300 iOS devices. I already amange Outlook 2016 on ~300 Macs. But I can't move to Outlook on iOS until MDM hooks exists that will allow me to configure O365/Exchange settings in Outlook (like we can do today with Mail.app).

Has this situation improved?
