So we have OpenLDAP as our directory service because we are an all Linux environment. Currently we have a bash script that runs on the OpenLDAP server and checks for expiring passwords then emails the user. One last detail regarding our OpenLDAP server, the schema is based off OpenDirectory because previously they had OpenDirectory OS X server, and for some reason they copied the schema into OpenLDAP to keep everything consistent.
The issue is this was setup by the previous IT guys, and the end users would rather have something more intuitive. I would rather script it in a way where it checks when the password policy expires, and then opens up a JSS box that opens up a GUI box with a warning. Is there anyway to accomplish this?
