So xServe is deprecated & macOS Server app is stripped, then this?!
Pretty awesome news if you ask me, thought id share this here for a nice little discussion because we all know what happened with the xServe - long term reliability is in question here as apple dropped the ball with xserve, why should we now use this?

I would not consider a device that needs local monitor, keyboard and mouse or trackpad as being a server. Same for yearly OS updates that change feature sets, commands, options etc.

This is to rack-mount in an under-desk rack. Think music studio, etc.
Doesn't mean I still wouldn't buy 2 of them if I won the lottery...
