I've only come across a couple of devices, where anything they try to install shows failed on there end, but isn't reporting in Jamf as a failure on their device. The self service error detail is a generic message. One of the last was last online 11/14 and the other is 11/02. The item there running is running on other devices. I made sure they were connected to Jamf Connect. I'm getting the logs now.
This once happened to me because the policy included both items that succeeded and items that failed. In my case it was a printer setup that included both older and newer drivers, where one would install correctly, and one would fail on each machine. This includes attempting to installing packages defined for another version of MacOS, that counts as a failure locally.
