Standard user with rights to install new external device

As in our company we deploy standard local users, whenever they try to plug in a new external device like an ethernet cable, he must fill admin user credentials in order to activate the new peripheral. Is there a way to avoid this and give std user the rights to plug in any external device without being prompted for admin user/pwd?

Well, that's interesting. While it would take admin credentials to add a network service, it is not required to connect an ethernet cable, even with an adaptor. You may have something deeper going on (from a configuration standpoint). However, there are ways to deal with stuff "like" this. First, you can modify access to specific preferences and preference panes using the security command line tool.

also, this is still relevent: https://derflounder.wordpress.com/2014/02/16/managing-the-authorization-database-in-os-x-mavericks/

However, I'm far more curious as to why a standard mac user would be asked for admin credentials for connecting to an Ethernet network.
