Hello,
I am working on Mac Refresh and have to rollout about 100 Mac’s for that I am pulling the Application inventory reports of all the Mac which are in the list for refresh. I am pulling the application inventory details from the installed application by searching for a particular computer using inventory search. Please see the screen1.tiff for reference.
When I click to Installed Applications it shows the detailed Application list which shows lots of unwanted Application stuff that is not required for reporting purpose. Please see the screen2.tiff for reference.
So I did some suppression of applications we can suppress unwanted applications by going to Settings--Inventory Options--Suppress Applications
Suppress application shows all the application data which is in the JSS by checking unwanted application from the Manu we can suppress them. that stores in Uncompress Inventory Items Settings--Inventory Options—Unsuppressed Applications.
Just wanted to know if these suppress and unsuppressed effects only for the reporting part or effects the policies too?
Is anyone pulling the application inventory with some other methods which would be easy to understand and readable form?
Because in Casper if we see Application Distribution Report (PDF) it shows very big (detailed) and lots of unwanted stuff with multiple pages of report.
Regards,
Vinay

Hello,
To simplify my question, we are looking for a way to pull an Installed Applications report. The method should "respect" our Suppressed Applications defined in JSS:
Settings > Inventory Options > Suppressed Applications.
We have built-in reports that are not the format we want (Appication Distribution, etc.). Is this something we need JAMF to do for us? If so, how difficult would it be.
