Tutorial on Notarization ?

I been googling a lot, but don´t seem to find something useable that is not heavy technical.

I have to parts.

An .app file from a developer that has done nothing with the file. Not signed or notarized

And A apple developer certificate

I am overcomplicating this or does there exist some scripts that can do it ?

Here's a blog article with a good compilation of articles about notarization, both official and unofficial. My advice would be to start by reading the unofficial articles in Section 3, since they're more likely to focus on the basics and explanations of the jargon.
