I have three MacBook Pros all having the same issue. I have been able to add all the necessary printers to each except one. On this one when I go to select the PPD file, the PPD file is greyed out.
Now each laptop has two administrator accounts. One computer, one administrator can select the PPD while the second account cannot. One the other two laptops, neither account can select the PPD file.
I am guessing based on the one laptop that this is a permission issue. I have check the Printer Administrator group and both accounts for each laptop are in the group. So what permission is possibly missing?
