Is there a way to tell or report on what Apple ID/VPP ID was used when an Mac App Store App was installed? We have a client that has recently merged with another company. They have apps that may have been installed using several different VPP accounts and/or personal Apple IDs. Some of these VPP accounts/Apple IDs we do not have access to since they no longer exist or we have no way to log in to them. Is there a way to tell what was used on each computer for each MAS app? Or is there a way to replace that app on all computers with the app purchased from the current VPP account?

Thx,
Scott

@scottlep If you want to dig into the various receipts bundled into apps from the Mac App Store, this would be a good start: Poking Around in Mac App Store Receipts. While that shows how to correlate the ID in an app to a user's DSPersonID associated with their AppleID, it should reveal something about a VPP associated app, and let you create a script to differentiate on which VPP account an app is associated with to target your replacements.
