jamf school: layout already installed

Hi, we have a big problem with the layouts at our school. We have defined layouts (iPadOS) for school days. Unfortunately, the layout that should apply outside school hours cannot be loaded. Jamf has the following error:

"Profile installation failed / Profile could not be installed / The profile" gsg-Layout-Schueler-1: 1 (version: 46) "could not be installed. / The payload" HomescreenLayout "could not be installed cannot be installed. / A home screen layout is already installed.

We're pretty desperate because only a full wipe could solve the problem. Does anyone have the same problem or even a solution?

wir haben bei unserer Schule ein großes Problem mit den Layouts. Wir haben für die Schulzeit Layouts (iPadOS) definiert. Leider kann das Layout, das außerhalb der Schulezeit gelten soll aber nicht geladen werden. Bei jamf steht der folgende Fehler:

Wir sind ziemlich verzweifelt, weil nur ein kompletter Wipe das Problem lösen könnte. Hat irgendwer das gleiche Problem oder sogar eine Lösung?

We are considering enforcing layouts, but have not tested it yet. How do you have this scoped to devices? My initial guess is a timed filter. If so, I will test a similar setup and see if I can reproduce the results.

Forced layouts would of course help. We have devices with timed restrictions (7 - 16). It is also not reproducible for us. There are some devices that unfortunately have this feature. We cannot find any similarities either. It is precisely this one error message that appears on approx. 10% of the devices.

Erzwungene Layouts würden da natürlich helfen. Wir haben Geräte mit zeitgesteuerten Einschränkungen. Es ist für uns auch nicht reproduzierbar. Es sind einige Geräte, die leider dieses Merkmal tragen. Wir können auch keine Gemeinsamkeiten feststellen. Es ist eben diese eine Fehlermeldung, die bei ca. 10% der Geräte erscheint.

I scoped two layout profiles with a time filter back to back on an iPad running 15.0.1 and was not able to reproduce the error. The only thing I can think of that may correct the issue is disabling and reenabling the profiles.

Thank you for your invesitgation. Disabling and reenabling the profile didn‘t work. That was the first thing i tried.

Probably there is a problem with the time based restriction. I wonder, that there are no other entries about that problem…
