Managed ID and connected devices

I have inherited a set up for a primary school, and they have a number of class sets of iPads.

Each iPad in the class in currently signed into a Managed ID (eg year2@schoolname.school). i believe this is for the ASM deployed store apps.

As i understand, Managed IDs cannot be deployed to the iPads. in the process of resetting one of the ipads, I have signed the account back in, however on the reset iPads, it is showing the other devices connected to the same account, where the yet to be reset devices do not.

Is there a setting/restriction may have missed in this process, has anyone experienced this?

Apps that originate from the ASM App Store are device based licenses. Furthermore Managed Apple ID's don't allow e-commerce i.e. apps, movies, music, etc. so if these are indeed MAID's then it's probably for iCloud storage.

As far as I'm aware there is no setting or even a restriction to hide the other devices logged into that same account. I don't surmise you'll ever see one either as this is rarely an issue and or shouldn't be one. Could you perhaps create device specific accounts and sign those in instead?
