Students screens blocked from teacher view

Hi All - we recently started using JAMF in our middle school and I am working with teachers to integrate it into their class. I have a teacher that uses Desmos for Math and can usually see on her computer what students are doing in there so she can provide feedback, adjust the lesson, etc. But when we used JAMF on the students ipads it suddenly would not allow her to see anything from their screens. Is there a way to fix this?

It seems like the application on the Desmos for Math relied on some old on-device approvals/profiles. Those either need to be configured after you now have enrolled your devices with Jamf School, or replaced by other functionality.

I would usually say use either Apple Classroom or Jamf teacher for the task. And there's another thread that goes into detail about what needs to be enabled : https://community.jamf.com/t5/jamf-school/apple-classroom-view-screen-blocked-out/m-p/293781

Thanks for your response!  It's not Apple Classroom that we are trying to use at the same time as Jamf, but the teacher is trying to interact on the Desmos teacher page, but it is blocking her teacher view of the student's screen. Does that make sense?

Yes it does. The reason I mention Jamf teacher and Apple Classroom, is that you might find the same functionality there. Some more info(Jamf Teacher has been updated with some interface changes, but the functionality is still there): https://www.jamf.com/resources/webinars/back-to-school-2022-jamf-teacher-and-apple-classroom/

And this requires some extra approvals for the screen to be transmitted from the device. This can probably be configured with a profile or similar. My guess is that some extra configuration is required. Ask Desmos as the manufacturer what needs to be set up for their software to work with devices managed in an MDM, specifically Jamf School.
