Salary: $53,000 - $60,000 DOE + Benefits
Hours: 205 Days, July 1st, 2021 - June 30, 2022

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
The Technology Support Specialist provides support to end users across the school district for computer and mobile device hardware, software, other technology equipment, and business-related applications. The Specialist will respond to support requests via email, phone, and the IT helpdesk ticketing system. The Specialist acts as a main resource during infrastructure emergencies utilizing prioritization and escalation skills to ensure timely resolution of issues. This position documents, tracks, and monitors problems and outages using various software tools. The Technology Support Specialist works to configure, test, diagnose and correct network anomalies. This position trains staff and students on various computer platforms and software.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Excellent troubleshooting skills; high attention to detail; ability to quickly diagnose and solve issues; make wise decisions despite ambiguity
● Strong communication skills and willingness to work with people of all skill levels through a variety of media and channels
● Ability to work independently, strong work ethic, and dedication towards a job well done

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
● Bachelor’s Degree
● 2+ years working IT including all aspects of client, server, network and peripheral integration
● Advanced technical experience with macOS and any of the following: G Suite, Windows 2019/10, iOS, JAMF Pro,
Linux/Unix.
● Travel to rural Alaskan schools and perform technology work and training
● Provide decisive and expeditious hardware, software, Internet, and peripheral technology troubleshooting and support
remotely
● Manage physical and virtual macOS, iOS, Linux, and Windows integrated server/client environments in multiple local and
remote locations
● Continually develop skills and capacity to maintain expertise in the technology required by the school district
● Manage web based solutions for online collaboration and learning
● Other relevant duties as assigned by the IT Systems Administrator
