The option to turn of these panes would be very welcome. And an option to change the default selected pane when opening the app.

As far as I can tell, in the testing window you'd have to look for a group and a user, and it will tell you if they are in the group. I think this is expected behavior. - Or are you running into any other issues?

Unfortunately there is no way to do this without as you mentioned Jamf Protect, or a similar piece of software.
