2018 MacBook Pro i9 DEP Enrollment Issue 10.13.6

I wasn't able to get any of our new 2018 i9 laptops enrolled using DEP. I fixed it by using Internet Recovery to reinstall macOS. Internet Recovery pulled the 17G2208 build of 10.13.6 which includes the i9 throttling bug fix. DEP is working now. The laptop originally shipped with 17G2112 which doesn't work to get enrolled to DEP.

Throttling was never "fixed", they just increased the time it takes for the CPU to throttle based on temperature. Those things still throttle down, just slowly now.

To answer your question, though, I should be able to test this tomorrow because I'm getting one in for testing.

We have two 15-inch i9 MBP 2018's, purchased a couple of days after availability. Identical configurations (maxed out). One of them would not enroll in DEP with its default OS installation (but worked after Internet Recovery and reinstall), the other one, strangely, worked out-of-the-box. Both computers both needed the additional update to fix the throttling issue, though, but this was back in July...

I believe the reason to be an error with an early batch of Apple's production macOS images. It is custom build of macOS 10.13.6, so there might have been some errors early on in the production. Or perhaps the error is present at one of the production lines, but fixed on another? I have really no idea...
