Any thoughts on what might cause a dmg to simply disappear from Casper Admin?
I added a new OS disk image into Admin. I can see the file sitting in the CasperShare/Packages folder right where it ought to be. A few hours later, it's literally gone, and Casper Admin lists it as Missing. Done this twice now.
Loosing my mind here. I'm the only one with access.
Anyone?
thanks,
Darrin

Do you have multiple distribution points and do you have automatic
replication enabled via JSS Setup Util?
I had this issue recently too. I could upload new DMG in Casper Admin, but
they were gone the next day. I attribute it to an emergency migration of my
JSS from one server to another and also dorking around with the primary DP.
I moved my JSS from one server to another and the replications where taking
place, but it wasn't using the master I wanted as the source. I had briefly
changed master DP after the migration. This was probably my mix up or
improper planning and not the fault of the JSS.
After verifying the master server was correct, I removed all scheduled
replications settings. Then I setup new replication schedules and it worked
as expected. My newly added DMG packages stopped disappearing.

We had this once too.
The JSS util, JSS web & sever admin were all pointing to different copies of the Casper share.
Once that was tidied up.. No problem.

Ben.

It's something they mention in the CCA... Basically when you save in admin, it save the changes from when it was open... So if you have multiple copies open, the last saved will overwrite the others.

Ben.

Check your database health. Run a table repair just for good measure.

Also run fix permissions in JSS Setup utility, or reboot the dist point

Do you have multiple copies of Casper admin open? On multiple computers either by yourself or with others?

Ben.

Not that I'm aware, but I am working remotely on several servers, with lot's going on. I'll add the image back and ensure no other copies of Admin are open.

Similarly, yeah. 1 Master and several distros.
We 'moved' the JSS/master from one machine to another, but did not use the old database, just re-Reconed the whole network again and pointed to the old distribution points. So this is basically a new install of the JSS/master, configured to use all the existing distribution points.
I'm picking this up, where someone left off. Will start looking very carefully at the the configuration of master/distro/replication etc.
thanks

Well, for the record, if anyone comes back to this in the future, we actually had two entries in the JSS for our Master and it wasn't obvious at first because one was named by IP, the other by FQDN.
Replication was clearly killing that one package, I'll need to revisit all my replication setting. Thanks Jason, for tipping me off in the right direction.
