Strangely, I'm seeing this too today. I rebuilt a system a couple times and every time it fails to connect to the JSS. I can ping it, connect to the web url, etc but the checkJSSConnection fails..
It also didn't bind to AD or create the JSS account.

This was all working fine yesterday though, and the only thing I changed was uploaded a script.. existing machines are fine too, just new builds.

I got the error but rectified it by changing the dongle I was using (for MacBook Air). Its strange and I'm not sure as to why it happened. Hope this helps.
