I have a diskstation 411+II and it has a linux version on it, has a dual core Atom CPU and 1GB RAM. Supports AFP and NFS and HTTP
I was wondering if it is possible to install the linux version of JSS on it? Has anyone ever tried it? Would be a very cheap and stable solution! All the cool pluses of having a synology diskstation and running JSS
Anyway thoughts?

The trick would be running mysql on it. Even if you could get it to install on there, I would think the 1GB of RAM is going to hamper your database performance depending on the size of your installation.

mysql is onboard and pretty optimized, but yeah would have to see how much memory it would take
would be an idea....

Hey, I never said don't do it.
Part of why I love being an IT nerd is kludging something together that's never meant to work that way! You never know until you try it.
