Cheezbugga'...cheezbugga'...cheezbugga'...

OK we have several dozen existing Snow Leopard (10.6) users in a department who are asking to be upgraded to Lion (10.7), and they want it done "in place". Yay.
Scenario 2 in JAMF article 173 is obviously the route we would need to take. The process is straight forward and easy to implement (we tested in our LAB). We have analysts working on software compatibility - as in, what might be installed that wouldn't be compatible with Lion (apps, plug-ins, XTensions, drivers, yadayada).
That said, how many of you have actually used Scenario 2 in a multimedia/graphics environment. It's always been best practice to reimage whenever moving someone to the next OS level...but we were told to cut corners on this one (they've been sufficiently warned about the risks <g>).
Any gotchas? Anything we should be on the lookout for? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
...Oh, would you like ketsup with your cheezbugga'?

We're almost done with our move to 10.7. We did a phased nuke and pave since McAfee AV caused so many issues in 10.6. The upgrade in place will happen with 10.8 for my company. We had about 20 upgrade in place 10.7 users and they had very few problems mostly wireless related due to Radius. The Adobe apps worked fine for them after the upgrade. Unfortunately I deal more with developers these days than with designers. I would say Rich T has some great ideas on this kind off upgrade.

@jhbush1973 Thanks for the feedback Jason. Always good to hear from the folks with palmares. So I presume you used Scenario 2 as outlined in the JAMF article?
Time to hit the movies with the gang...The Raid: Redemption...hope that'll motivate me to hit this request on Monday.

I don't think you can Filevault with Scenerio 2. I tried it once and it didn't work as needed the restore partition and it was missing of course

Did any one yet get a a successful nuke and pave with 10.6>10.7 update while net booted??? I know the parms for bless changed and I have not tested with 10.7.3 but I could not get an unattended re-image this way. Anyone else had any luck??

--> barber: You can use Carbon Copy Cloners "Disk Center" feature (new in version 3) which can re-clone Apple's Recovery HD.
Used this great solution to have a Recovery HD on my external Backup-Harddrive and also the other direction works fine (copy the Recovery HD from the external HD to an internal drive).
