In-House eBook PDFs Not Loading

I have just set up a web server hosting six PDF documents i want to distribute as eBooks through Self Service on the iPad. All of the install prompts for the eBooks show up successfully in Self Service but only two of them actually open a new window and view the associated PDF.

Does anyone have any ideas why its working for some but not others? The procedure i went through is identical for each.

How large are the files? We have ours setup to use the built-in "inhouse" folder on the tomcat as JAMF suggests, and if the pdfs or iBooks are over 50mb, it can take a very long time for MobileSafari to open the files, and then even longer for iBooks to open them and add to library. This is pretty basic, but make sure the permissions of the files on the web server are the same and that you can read everything and load them fine in a Safari or Chrome on a computer?
