iPads no longer managed by JSS

This week I have encountered 2 ipads that seem to have lost the ability to connect to our WiFi, despite the correct profiles still being installed on the devices, as well as the devices being supervised by our school district. After typing in the password to connect to WiFi, I can no longer send commands to these devices. Any ideas what could be causing this? Has anyone else seen this? The only fix I have seen so far is to wipe and re-enroll.
