We are trying to deploy some apps via iTunes. It was suggested to us to
use Casper to monitor the file system for changes and build a package
that way.
So I launch Composer, build a new package with monitoring file system,
open iTunes, copy our provisioning profile and app into itunes and then
"build package".
I can verify the provisioning profile and app are listed in the
directory structure before I build as DMG. From there I port into Casper
admin and make the necessary changes (Fill User Home Directory) and
deploy via Casper Remote.
It deploys successfully. I launch iTunes and connect the iPhone but it
doesn't show any apps available for synching. After several attempts I
tried the above process but with a before and after snapshot. After
deploying the DMG file from the B&A snapshot it shows up in iTunes, but
I was only able to 'successfully' deploy it to an iPhone once, after
that I got an error that the app was not installed on the iPhone because
the signer is not valid. I wiped the phones, wiped and reimaged the
machines several times, after that 1 successful time, I have not been
able to reproduce it.

Hmmm have u tried the enterprise deployment iPhone tool, also is it an adhoc then ? So ull have to add every device to the portal, my not use the app store, can u not let each user choose to install?

We not just give the user the app and the profile and let them install them?
Y pre build in iTunes ?

Right now, it is in a small pilot, but we are hoping to get this ramped
up to thousands of devices.
Logistically, manually installing isn't feasible.
