JAMF and Java 11/12?

Hey all,

So we are on JAMF 10.13 right now. I see the requirements for JAMF 10.15 are OpenJDK11 or Oracle Java 11. It seems the newest release is in the 12.x series.

Can I use a 12.x Java or OpenJDK release? Currently running Windows Server 2012 R2 Azure server with JAMF running on it.

Also, according to the documentation for migrating from previous JRE to 11+ (https://www.jamf.com/jamf-nation/articles/666/migrating-to-java-11) it says any trust store stuff will need to be replicated to the new installation. Is there a way to check if this will be an issue before going through the process?

These instructions in the link below say nothing about Java 12, and the latest version of Amazon Corretto is 11

Java 11 is an LTS (long-term support) release like Java 8, openJDK 11 should be supported until at least September 2022. Java 12 is not, support for Java 12 ends this month.

Do you use an internal certificate authority (CA) with Jamf? If not it doesn't affect you. I think you just have to re-do the setup of the SSL cert if you use an internal CA.

@crbeck, I think we have an internal cert with JAMF, not sure how to go about the migration part, though.

Also remember that Oracle now charges for a commercial Java license. That fact alone is playing hell with some of my other RMM tools.
