Jamf Pro (Cloud hosted) - local on prem File Distribution Point

Anyone know if it is possible to setup a File Distribution Point locally on prem when hosted on jamcloud.com?

From what I see I would have to open up either SMB or AFP ports on my firewall to the File Distribution Point(s)... not ideal. Is there any other way around this?

Yes you can setup a Distribution Point locally. You will need to setup an smb server locally, then leverage JAMF Admin to sync the packages. You don't need to open the server ports to jamfcloud, JAMF Admin handles the transfer.
