Who's going to this?? I will be attending the CCA Training.
Posted on 05-28-2014 07:33 AM
I was considering going to this one, but may wait until the next one in Boston in September. We have yet to move to version 9 here, but will be doing that this coming quarter. I'd rather get a decent number of hours using version 9 under my belt before taking the course.

Well I will definitely be there!

Looking forward to it Brock. Just got the email that you are the trainer!
Posted on 05-28-2014 11:18 AM
Brock, those certifications under your name are crazy man. I want to do that too. lol
Posted on 05-28-2014 11:21 AM
I'm a little nervous just taking the CCA Exam
Brock how do you prepare for the exam?
Posted on 05-28-2014 11:28 AM
This has been brought up elsewhere, but there really isn't anything to be concerned about with the exam. Attend the course, pay attention to what's being taught, and you'll do fine. Its pretty much open book. Everything that's on the test will have been covered in some manner but just modified from the original exercises, so you'll have the course materials right in front of you to refer to.
And honestly I think you could probably pull up the full Casper Suite admin guide PDF during the test to look something up too and they likely wouldn't have an objection. :)
Posted on 05-28-2014 11:38 AM
Prepare for the exam by buying me a drink at the bar around the corner. ;)
You'll do fine, and they give you plenty of time. Stick around after the test to see if you passed, and make sure they see everything you've done. Since you can skin a cat 30 different ways with Casper, it is easy to overlook one or another ways of doing something.
Posted on 05-28-2014 11:42 AM
I'll gladly buy you a drink. I am guessing you will be attending this? @ctangora
Posted on 05-28-2014 11:51 AM
Nah, I'm a few miles up the road. But if y'all do go out for drinks I would swing by.
We can have an impromptu Boston Casper Admin's meeting!
Posted on 05-28-2014 11:53 AM
Hmm, that's not a bad idea. I wouldn't be opposed to going into the city to meet up with folks on one of the evenings after the training.
Let's make it happen.
Posted on 05-28-2014 04:09 PM
I'm totally into this idea! Would be great to see as many of you as possible that are in the area. The prerequisites for taking the CCA class are currently:
1) having attended a JumpStart performed by a member of JAMF's Prefessional Services team.
2) 6 months of experience using the Casper Suite.
You are allowed to use resources during the exam including our documentation, JAMF Nation, your notes. Pretty much the only resource you can't use is another person - & you can't call JAMF Support. :)
In the immortal words of Douglas Adams, "Don't Panic." See you in Boston!

Looking forward to this next week in Boston, going the whole week for my CMA and CCA certs. That meet up sounds like a winner also.
Posted on 05-30-2014 10:50 AM
How does Thursday sound?
Posted on 05-30-2014 11:05 AM
In terms of the classes Thursday is probably the best day but if that doesn't work for all I don't want to be the final arbiter - this is all about you guys not me. :) The training facility is near South Station so if someone has a place in mind in that part of town to suggest that would be fantastic.
Posted on 05-30-2014 11:22 AM
Who's staying at the club quarters hotel in Boston?
Posted on 05-30-2014 11:24 AM
Thursday works for me as well :)
Posted on 06-02-2014 07:45 AM
Hey guys, could not make the Casper training this week, but glad to meet you after work Thursday!
Looking up 263 Summer Street you're in Downtown Crossing which can be a tad block to block, but in the area I can definitely recommend Stoddard's (excellent craft draft selection in a historic building) http://www.yelp.com/biz/stoddards-fine-food-and-ale-boston.
Let me know what you guys decide and I'd be glad to stop by and say hello!
Posted on 06-02-2014 08:14 AM
Looking forward to this training!!
Posted on 06-03-2014 10:59 AM
So we are down with Thursday at Stoddard's?
Isn't that the place with Cask beer?
Posted on 06-04-2014 06:21 AM
I do believe so @ctangora.
Warning: website that still thought sound was a good idea:

As long as that isn't to far of a walk for the class. I'm game.
Posted on 06-04-2014 08:54 AM
I'm going to do my best to make it out there. What time is everyone thinking? I might have missed it but I didn't see any mention of that.
Posted on 06-04-2014 01:57 PM
4:30? 5:00?
I'll be the bearded guy.
Posted on 06-05-2014 10:50 AM
We don't get out till 5pm so we should shoot for a little later to give everyone adequate time.
Posted on 06-05-2014 11:26 AM
Sounds good. Head there when you can.
Posted on 06-05-2014 11:48 AM
Ditto @sullivanj. Aiming for 6p but getting anywhere in the city 5-6pm = 2-3x ETA multiplier.
Posted on 06-05-2014 02:40 PM
Anybody here? Just arrived. Not seeing any epic beard parties yet.
Posted on 06-05-2014 02:49 PM
It doesn't look like I'll be able to make it out after all. Have some items to take care of that will take longer than I expected. :(
(Not that I have an epic beard mind you)
Perhaps at the next Boston CUG? Gonna need to post on that thread to bring that up. We should plan another meet up sometime soon.
Posted on 06-05-2014 03:09 PM
I'm here Chris, where you?
Posted on 06-05-2014 03:20 PM
I meant Cliff oops
Posted on 06-05-2014 03:50 PM
It's anyone coming or still present?
Posted on 06-05-2014 03:50 PM
We're at the upstairs bar.
Look for the beard.
Posted on 06-06-2014 06:11 AM
Sorry to miss you guys. Was there 5:30 - 6pm, but after asking several groups if they were the Casper group the amount of odd looks I was getting was mounting up.
Posted on 06-06-2014 06:33 AM
Cliff, no worries buddy.
Posted on 06-08-2014 09:06 AM
Sorry we missed you cliff! We'll have to have a re-do at the next training or sooner!
