We are trying to image new MacBook Pros and after the image has been successfully applied, the recon fails with this message in the computer's local log:
<response>Bad username or password</response>
Also, the imaging log in the Jamf server has no record of the imaging despite it having worked successfully (except for the recon).
I can manually run the recon after the fact but with 700+ computers to image, this is not ideal.
I have read this topic, but nothing there helped:

I am running Casper 8.5.2 on Lion and all of my clients are Lion. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can begin to troubleshoot this?

As it turns out, we had created a user in Casper for our students to use while helping us during imaging. While this user had imaging rights, it did not have recon rights. When we gave this user the appropriate rights, recon worked.
