Hi

Encountered an weird case on some devices, after enabling internet sharing, the hotspot is unsecured even if i did set up a password for it. Does anyone have any ideea on what i could try? I'm not even sure where is that password, or the internet sharing config is usually stored.

I have never seen internet sharing used in an enterprise or educational environment; this is very much a consumer feature that most organizations would block.

I'm assuming once you select your Wi-Fi adapter to share out you are setting up a password under Wi-Fi Options. If that password is not actually applying to the network and you can reproduce on other devices, I suggest opening a case with Apple.  In the very least submit feedback as that absolutely sounds like a bug.

True, normally is blocked, but in this case it's needed for some specific testing.

And yes, a password is set under the WIFI options, as the OS will not allow not setting one. But it does not seem to apply at all.

That’s strange! It might be a glitch with the device's network settings. You could try resetting the hotspot settings or checking if there's a software update available. Also, make sure the password is saved correctly and not reverting to default. Hope this helps!
