I remember someone showing a process at JNUC this year. Does anyone have a link to the scripts/process or know of a way to do this easily?

@ddcdennisb Was it this talk?
Anyways, JSS cloud or on prem?

YES!!! @bentoms on prem.

@ddcdennisb As on prem, why not restore the DB to the test JSS?

don't want all the computer (1100+) looking to setup a lab environment with all the same scripts and policies to do better testing on rather then in a live environment.

@ddcdennisb arguably a copy of your in prod DB will give you better tests.

I second @bentoms . Once you clone the DB, delete the computers in your DEV DB, and enroll you lab/test machines.

Was it the JSS Migration Utility? I've been using it a bit. Works really well. Means you can leave both JSSes up and just migrate what you want.

yes it was.

@bentoms @davidacland
Will using a copy of your production db (either a backup/restore or JSS Migration Utility) use your same tokens for VPP and DEP? I have understood you never want to use the same token in two JSS instances.
We were considering creating separate accounts for our new test environment.

If its a copy of the database it will have everything in it, including the VPP tokens which could cause issues.
If you can track down where the VPP tokens are stored in the db you could remove them before adding the tomcat webapp.
Failing that, the JSS migration utility script will be a nice way to go.

@kwsenger Are you planning on testing DEP or VPP on the test JSS?
